My path
Ever since I was a kid I always loved being creative. The people around me all said I should pursue a career where I could use this creativity. The problem was that I was not at all familiar in that branche of work and didn't know there was more to it than selling art. So when I finished school at 15 I started out with an MBO in retail management. I soon realized that this was not where my heart really wanted to go, but I had to finish it if I wanted to educate myself further to HBO. Then I found the course "communication multimedia design" which I am currently still doing. The projects that I had to do in this course were a way for me to express my creativity and also learn the theory behind design and properly apply this to my projects.
What really fascinated me, and still does, is using the psychology behind design to motivate people to do the right thing subconsciously, like recycling or helping other people in need.
My specialties
Within the different types of skill we learn through this course I noticed I excel mostly at conceptualizing. I really love to dream big ideas and eventually, through looking at what's realistic from a budget and coding side of things, narrow it down to a few concepts.
In the 3rd year of the course I followed a minor in emerging technologies, focussed on things like AI. The rise of AI has been a great help for me to present the concepts and ideas I have in my mind and convey them in a way that makes sense to others, through the help of image generation and the creation of high-fidelity storyboards.
